2023 NPP flagbearership campaign ‘most cleanest’ since party’s inception — Felix Kwakye Ofosu

A National Democratic Congress communications team member, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, has described the competitive campaigns ongoing among the aspirants of the NPP presidential aspirants as the healthiest in the party’s history.

Mr. Kwakye Ofosu, who is the NDC Parliamentary Candidate for the Abura Asebu Kwamankese Constituency on Tuesday, July 18, 2023, told Metro TV’s Dr. Randy Abbey on Good Morning Ghana, that “…previous NPP contests, in terms of rhetoric and exchanges and verbal jabbing, this has to be one of the cleanest.”

Juxtaposing the campaign messages of the aspirants to previous NPP presidential primaries, Felix Kwakye Ofosu noted that there were a barrage of allegations levelled against candidates in the past than being witnessed currently.

“Compared to the 2007 contest where no less of a person than President Akufo Addo himself was at the forefront of accusations against Alan Kyeremanten at the time, as being given access to state facilities. You recall there was a story about the use of some helicopters and all that,” the NPP communicator argued.

This serves as a contradicting response to Dr. Tiah Mahama’s analysis on the show about the dangers of the ‘dirty’ politics some aspirants are engaging in.

Dr. Tiah Mahama called on the various NPP presidential aspirants to embark on a clean campaign devoid of personal attacks and questionable utterances.

“it’s getting dirty because the utterances of members of the various teams and even the leaders of the various teams have an implication on the final outcome. Whosoever wins the elections will need each and every single member of the NPP to win the elections,” Dr. Tiah Mahama stated.
