GFA Executive Council Member, Madam Rosalind Amoh, has hailed the current football season as “exciting”, citing the impressive performances of new players and a surge in goal-scoring.

In an exclusive interview with Metro Sports on the sidelines of the recent draw, Madam Amoh noted that the season has witnessed a remarkable 178 goals, with several players emerging as top goal scorers. Interestingly, she observed that the goal tally is relatively lower compared to the previous season, indicating a more competitive and evenly-matched league.

Also, she emphasized on the tragic incident that happened at Nsoatre in the matchday 19 game between Nsoatreman FC and Asante Kotoko, which led to the death of a fan. She attributed the decline in stadium attendance to hooliganism, stating, “Hooliganism is the reason many people stay away from match venues, as they do not want to risk their lives.”

Amoh expressed her condolences to the family of the deceased and called for improvements in stadium safety measures.

“Hopefully, we will rise from this incident and ensure that the right things are done to protect our stadiums and prevent such cases in the future,” she said.

The venues for Semi- final and final matches for the Women’s FA Cup will be decided by the FA and shared with the public.

The quarterfinal matches is scheduled from February 14 – February 17, 2025 in their various venues respectively.
