2024/25 GPL: Albert Amoah’s late strike breaks Hearts of Oak’s hearts; Heart of Lions roar to the top; Vision edge Medeama in thriller: Week 13 Results

Asante Kotoko secured a late victory over their fiercest rivals, Hearts of Oak, winning 1-0 in their return to the Baba Yara Stadium in the Ghana Premier League.

In other results, Accra Lions ended an 8-game winless streak with a 1-0 home victory against Nations FC, thanks to Nigerian striker Lucy Nwafor, who scored the crucial goal within the first 20 minutes of play.

Basake HolyStars achieved a convincing 3-0 win against Young Apostles at the Crosby Awauh Memorial (CAM) Park, with goals from Prince Opoku, Issah Yakubu, and Prince Tweneboah all coming in the second half.

Berekum Chelsea and Aduana FC played to a goalless draw at the Golden City Park, with both teams unable to find the back of the net despite creating several half-chances.

Karela United managed to score late and earn a point against Bibiani GoldStars at the Tamale Sports Stadium. GoldStars took the lead with a Faisal Gariba own goal in the 73rd minute, but Nasiru Abdul Karim equalized in the 88th minute.

Goals from Francis Acquah and Augustine Okrah in each half secured Bechem United a 2-0 victory against Legon Cities at the Legon Sports Stadium.

Nsoatreman and Dreams FC ended in a 1-1 draw at the Nsenkyire Park. Joseph Esso put Dreams FC ahead in the 19th minute, but Collins Kudjoe equalized for Nsoatreman in the 58th minute.

A second-minute strike from Nana Opponh earned Heart of Lions a 1-0 win against Samartex in Samreboi, propelling the Lions to the top of the Premier League table with 24 points.

Vision FC scored late to clinch a 3-2 victory over Medeama. Joshua Rhule opened the scoring in the 4th minute, and Frank Abora Duku doubled the lead just before halftime.

Vision had a chance to make it 3-0 at the beginning of the second half, but Frank Doku missed his kick. Medeama fought back, leveling the game at 2-2 with goals from Osah Bernardinho Tetteh and Michael Sarpong in the 67th and 82nd minutes, respectively.
