The Premier League returned with Gameweek 23 fixtures taking place across the country.
Asante Kotoko moved to the top of the Premier League after defeating Legon Cities 2-0 at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium. Patrick Asiedu opened the scoring in the 28th minute, and Kwame Poku sealed the win with a penalty in the 88th minute.
A 68th-minute strike from Michael Nkoah was enough to secure a 1-0 victory for Bibiani GoldStars over Nations FC at the Duns Park. GoldStars are level on points with leaders Asante Kotoko on 27 but trail on goal difference.
Vision FC came from behind to draw 1-1 with Heart of Lions in Tema. Kwesi Pong gave Lions the lead in the 13th minute, before George Nagadzi equalized for Vision FC in the 31st minute.
Stephen Amankona scored a hat trick to lead Berekum Chelsea to a 3-1 win over Accra Lions at the Golden City Park. Amankona netted in the 44th, 52nd, and 72nd minutes to give Chelsea a 3-0 lead, before David Olubi Akintunde scored a late consolation for Lions in the 84th minute.
Dreams FC were unable to capitalize on their home advantage, as they were held to a 0-0 draw by Aduana FC.
Karela United were also held to a 1-1 draw at home by Berekum Holy Stars. Alhassan Adamu opened the scoring for Karela in the 20th minute, before Bismark Tayi equalized from the penalty spot in the 70th minute.
Medeama came from behind to defeat Bechem United 3-1 in Tarkwa. Darivin Yeboah gave Bechem United the lead in the 6th minute, but Kamaradini Mamudu equalized in the 16th minute. Michael Sarpong and Kelvin Nkrumah then added goals in the 68th and 95th minutes to secure the win for Medeama.
Goals in each half from Michael Mensah Awuah and Hamza Issah gave Hearts of Oak a 2-0 win over Young Apostles at the Legon Stadium. The victory moves Hearts just a point behind leaders Asante Kotoko.
Nsoatreman suffered a 1-0 defeat to Samartex at their adopted home ground, the Duns Park. Mohammed Alhassan Mankuyeli scored the only goal of the game.
