2024/25 GPL: Dreams dent Hearts of Oak’s title dreams, Kotoko held by Samartex, Legon Cities and Nations leave it late: Gameweek 24 wrap-up

Nations FC ended a 3-game losing streak with a 2-1 victory over Medeama at the Dr. Kwame Kyei Sports Complex. Razak Simpson broke the deadlock for Nations in the 33rd minute, and Yusif Mubarik equalized for Medeama from the penalty spot in the 60th minute.

In the 78th minute, Faisal Charwetey scored to seal the victory for Nations FC, moving them 3 points behind leaders Asante Kotoko.

Kelvin Obeng scored early goals in the 7th and 12th minutes to propel Aduana FC to a 2-0 win against Bibiani GoldStars at the Nana Agyemang Badu I Park.

Legon Cities boosted their survival chances with a late 2-1 win over Berekum Chelsea. Alidu Mohammed gave Legon Cities the lead in the 23rd minute, but Stephen Amankona equalized for Chelsea in the 81st minute.

Four minutes later, Raymond Agyemang scored to restore Legon Cities’ lead, taking them a point closer to moving out of the relegation zone.

Heart of Lions secured a narrow 1-0 win over Karela United at the Kpando Sports Stadium, with Kwesi Pong scoring the decisive goal in the 76th minute.

A quick brace from youngster Yaw Annor in the first half earned Bechem United a 2-0 victory over Vision FC at the Nana Fosu Gyeabor Park.

On Saturday, Hearts of Oak’s pursuit of the Premier League title was dealt a blow as they suffered a 1-0 defeat to Dreams FC at the University of Ghana Stadium in Legon. A 3rd-minute goal from youngster Abdul Razak Salifu separated the two teams.

Asante Kotoko were left to rue missed chances as they were held to a 1-1 draw by defending champions FC Samartex 1996 at Nsenkyire Park. Awuah Dramani opened the scoring for Samartex in the 38th minute, but Kwame Poku equalized for Kotoko in the 46th minute.
