2024/25 GPL: Gold Stars go top as Asante Kotoko slip in title race, Aduana ease past Hearts of Oak in Dorma: Gameweek 22 wrap-up

Gold Stars moved to the top of the table after a commanding 2-0 victory over Bechem United at the Nana Fosu Gyeabor Park. Ronald Frimpong opened the scoring in the 31st minute before Alex Aso sealed the win with a goal in the 69th minute.

Asante Kotoko lost ground in the title race following a heavy 3-0 defeat to relegation-threatened Accra Lions at the Accra Sports Stadium. Jacob Awoutey, Gildas, and Yao Sokpoli gave the Lions a 2-0 lead in the first half, before David Olubi Akintunde completed the rout in the second half.

Aduana FC scored in both halves to defeat Hearts of Oak 2-0 at the Nana Agyeman Badu I Park, extending their unbeaten run against the Phobians to eight matches. Salim Adams opened the scoring in the 31st minute before Bamba Latif added a second in the 89th minute.

Nations FC climbed to third place after edging Dreams FC 1-0 at the Dr. Kwame Kyei Sports Complex. Faisal Charwatey scored the match-winner in the 74th minute, taking his season tally to 11 goals. They now trail leaders Gold Stars by just two points.

Heart of Lions returned to winning ways with a narrow 1-0 win over Medeama at the Kpando Stadium. Team captain Ebenezer Abban scored the only goal of the game—his first of the season.

FC Samartex 1996 extended their winning streak to three games without conceding a goal, after a 2-0 victory over Karela United at Nsenkyire Sports Arena. Second-half goals from Godwin Sefah and Benedict Afful secured the points.

Young Apostles pulled off a dramatic late comeback to defeat Berekum Chelsea 2-1 at the Wenchi Stadium. Kwesi Sorotu Badori gave Chelsea an early lead in the 6th minute, but late goals from Hussein Issah in the 88th minute and Emmanuel Kyei in the 94th sealed a stunning turnaround for the hosts.

Basake Holy Stars moved five points clear of the relegation zone following a hard-fought 1-0 win against Vision FC at the Ampain AAK Arena.
