The Ghana Football Association has announced the winners of the NASCO Ghana Premier League Player of the Month, Coach of the Month, and Goalkeeper of the Month for December/January.
Hearts of Oak forward Mawuli Wayo has been named the Player of the Month. The winger scored two crucial goals, helping his team secure three points in an away match against Accra Lions, and was named the Most Valuable Player.
He also earned the NASCO Player of the Match award in the game against Heart of Lions. Wayo’s impressive record for December/January includes three goals in seven matches, two NASCO Player of the Match awards, and a total of 315 minutes on the pitch. He is currently Hearts of Oak’s top scorer this season, with five league goals in total.
Asante Kotoko head coach, Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum, has been named the NASCO Ghana Premier League Coach of the Month for December/January. This recognition comes after his team’s remarkable unbeaten run of six matches, securing five wins and one draw, including a victory over fierce rivals Hearts of Oak.
To celebrate their achievements, Mawuli Wayo and Coach Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum will receive a 42-inch NASCO television set from Electroland Ghana Limited.
Asante Kotoko’s Mohamed Camara has also been named the December/January Goalkeeper of the Month by the Ex-National Goalkeepers Union (NEGO).
Camara’s outstanding performances played a key role in keeping Asante Kotoko unbeaten in their last six matches, with three clean sheets, five wins, one draw, and only three goals conceded.
His exceptional form earned him the award over competitors such as Benjamin Asare of Hearts of Oak, Masawudu Inusah of Aduana FC, and Dari Aziz Haruna of Bechem United.
As a token of appreciation, NEGO will present Camara with a pair of gloves, a branded towel, water bottles, and a T-shirt.
