The win lifts Nations FC to 42 points, just 4 points behind leaders Asante Kotoko, while Karela United remain precariously positioned, only 2 points and a place above the relegation zone with 25 points.
Hearts of Oak ended a four-game winless run with a 1-0 win over Medeama SC. A stunning 40-yard screamer from Raphael Amponsah proved to be the match-winner. However, Hearts finished the game with 10 men after Emmanuel Amankwaah was sent off in the 84th minute for a second bookable offense.
Asante Kotoko extended their lead at the top of the Premier League table to 2 points following a 1-1 draw with Heart of Lions at the Kpando Stadium. Justice Blay gave the Porcupine Warriors the lead on the stroke of halftime, but Ali Fawaz equalized for the home side early in the second half.
Rejuvenated Dreams FC defeated Gold Stars FC 2-0 at the Tuba AstroTurf. Abdul Razak Salifu and Izdeen Mohammed scored in the first half to seal the win.
Aduana FC secured a 1-0 win over Vision FC at the Nana Agyemang Badu I Park. Rich Sackey scored the only goal of the match as early as the 10th minute.
Young Apostles played out a goalless draw at home against relegation-threatened Legon Cities. The scoreless draw saw Legon Cities secure only their second away point of the season, as well as their first clean sheet.
Basaake Holy Stars ended a three-game winless streak with a 2-1 home victory over Berekum Chelsea. Emmanuel Agyei opened the scoring in the 7th minute, and Prince Tweneboah added a second in the 34th. Jonah Attuquaye pulled one back for Chelsea in the second half.
In Nsenkyire, FC Samartex 1996 deepened Accra Lions’ troubles with a 2-0 victory. Emmanuel Mammah and Akwasi Sarpong scored for the home side in the first half.
