The Old Boys have spoken, and they’ve spoken with their wallets! In a stunning display of loyalty and pride, the APSUNIANS — proud alumni of the mighty St Augustine’s College — have rolled out a magnificent GH¢120,000 motivational package to cheer their beloved school into today’s National Science and Maths Quiz grand finale.
Leading this incredible gesture is a dynamic trio fondly known as ‘FED’ — Francis, Elton and Duncan — three old boys who clearly understand that greatness deserves to be celebrated in style.
And what a package it is! Each of the three brilliant contestants representing the school will walk away with GHS10,000 simply for the honour of reaching the final — a well-deserved reward for months of hard work, sharp minds, and relentless preparation.
The unsung heroes behind the scenes — the coordinators and teachers who have poured their energy into shaping these young champions — will share a further GHS10,000 in recognition of their dedication.
But the Old Boys aren’t stopping there. Should St Augustine’s College lift the trophy, the celebration will grow even bigger: the contestants will receive an additional GHS20,000, while the coordinators and teachers will be rewarded with a further GHS10,000. Talk about backing your own to the very end!
As if that weren’t enough, the APSUNIANS have hinted at even more surprises — an undisclosed package awaiting the team both at home and abroad, should they return home as champions. Now that’s what real school spirit looks like!
This is a school with pedigree, a proud tradition, and a legacy worth defending. St Augustine’s College — Ghana’s first Catholic second-cycle institution — last tasted NSMQ glory in 2019, triumphing over formidable rivals Presbyterian Boys’ Secondary School (Presec) and St Peter’s Senior High School, who settled for second and third place respectively.
Today, the stage is set for a gripping showdown, as three worthy finalists prepare to give everything they have in pursuit of glory. But make no mistake — St Augustine’s College carries the weight of history on its shoulders, having lifted the NSMQ crown twice before, and standing tall as the only Ghanaian school to have ever conquered the African Science and Maths Quiz Championship.
With the Old Boys fully mobilized and the whole APSUNIANS family rallying behind them, St Augustine’s College marches into this final not just as contestants — but as champions in spirit, backed by love, legacy, and GH¢120,000 worth of belief!
