The Black Princesses have been handed a challenging group at the 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup following the official draw held on Friday, May 15.
Ghana have been placed in Group C alongside France, South Korea and Ecuador for the global tournament, which will run from September 5 to 27.
The draw ceremony took place at the EC1 Cultural Center in Łódź, one of the host cities for the competition.
Ghana was represented at the ceremony by Charles Sampson and Prosper Harrison Addo.
The Black Princesses secured qualification for their eighth successive appearance at the tournament after edging Uganda 3-2 on aggregate in the final qualification round.
Among Ghana’s opponents, France arrive with vast tournament experience, making their 10th appearance at this level. Their best performance came in 2016 when they finished as runners-up.
South Korea will also be competing in their eighth FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup. The Asian side famously finished third during the 2010 edition — the same tournament in which Ghana made its debut appearance.
Ecuador, meanwhile, will be making history with their first-ever appearance at the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup, adding another intriguing dimension to Group C.
The tournament will feature 24 nations competing across four host cities in the 12th edition of the global competition.
