2026 World Cup qualification : George Afriyie pledges full support for Black Stars

Former Ghana Football Association Vice President George Afriyie has promised to do everything in his power to help the Black Stars earn a spot in the 2026 World Cup.

The four-time African champions are now turning their attention to the World Cup qualifying tournament, after failing to earn a spot in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) for the first time in twenty years.

Matchdays five and six will see the Black Stars play Madagascar and Chad, respectively.

George Afriyie has stated that he is willing to help Ghana in their attempt to qualify for the international competition, which will be held in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

“I’m prepared to help the Black Stars earn a spot in the 2026 World Cup,” George Afriyie told Gideon Okyere Anim(Gattuso) on Accra-based Original TV.

” But I’m willing to do whatever it takes to guarantee that the Black Stars make it to the World Cup,”he added.
