33 Suspects Arrested, 45 Motorbikes Seized in Major Kasoa Police Operation

The Central East Regional Police Command has arrested 33 individuals and seized 45 motorbikes following a series of targeted intelligence-led operations across the Kasoa enclave.

These operations, conducted in the early hours of December 16 and 17, 2025, were part of a broader strategy to maintain public safety during the upcoming festive season.

The police swoops took place in several communities, including the Kasoa Old Market, Awutu Breku, Gomoa Buduata, and Senya Breku. Authorities are particularly focused on cracking down on criminal activities that tend to spike around this time of year, including drug trafficking, theft, and other unlawful behaviors.

During the course of the operation, some of the arrested suspects were found in possession of illegal substances, including suspected Indian hemp and quantities of tramadol. Additionally, a toy gun was recovered from one of the suspects. These findings are part of the police’s ongoing efforts to curb criminal activities associated with the festive season, including the illegal trade of drugs and weapons.

All 45 motorbikes impounded during the operation are currently undergoing thorough verification and documentation checks. The police are working to ensure that these motorbikes are not being used in illegal activities, such as theft or drug transportation. Any motorbike found to be linked to criminal conduct will be further investigated.

The arrested suspects are being screened and questioned as part of the ongoing investigations. Once investigations are concluded, those found to have committed criminal offenses will face legal action, with cases expected to be brought before the courts in the coming weeks.

The police have also reminded the public to avoid traveling in secluded areas alone, as this increases the likelihood of becoming a target for criminals.

“We want everyone to enjoy the festive season safely, and we are committed to ensuring that the Kasoa enclave remains secure,” a spokesperson for the police stated.
