41st National Farmers’ Day and Agric Fair Begins in Ho

Today, Ghana officially opens the 41st National Farmers’ Day Celebration and Agric Fair, 2025, marking another significant milestone in the nation’s commitment to honouring the hardworking men and women who feed the country.

The colourful ceremony is taking place at the Ho Sports Stadium in the Volta Region, with activities commencing at 10:00 AM. The Agric Fair brings together farmers, agribusiness stakeholders, government agencies, development partners, and the general public to celebrate excellence in agriculture while showcasing Ghana’s rich agricultural potential.

Held under the inspiring theme “Feed Ghana, Eat Ghana, Secure the Future,” this year’s celebration highlights the urgent need for food security, local production, and sustainable farming practices. The event also aims to promote innovation in agriculture, strengthening Ghana’s drive towards self-sufficiency and economic resilience.

The opening ceremony is being led by Hon. Eric Opoku, as part of a national effort spearheaded by the Ministry of Food and Agriculture, the Ministry of Fisheries and Aquaculture Development, and the Ghana Cocoa Board, in collaboration with other relevant institutions.

In addition to the official proceedings, the Agric Fair will feature exhibitions of farm produce, livestock, fisheries, modern farming equipment, and agribusiness solutions, offering participants an opportunity to network, learn, and invest in the sector’s future.

The National Farmers’ Day Celebration remains a powerful symbol of appreciation for farmers across Ghana, whose dedication continues to drive national growth, ensure food availability, and strengthen rural livelihoods.

As activities unfold in Ho today, all eyes are on Ghana’s farmers—true heroes of the soil—whose efforts form the backbone of the nation’s progress.
