A recent nationwide poll shows that Ghanaians broadly support several major recommendations from the Constitutional Review Commission’s report released earlier this month.
This is according to the Global InfoAnalytics which conducted the survey between December 1 and December 21, 2025, using a combination of online questionnaires, telephone interviews, and face-to-face discussions.
The survey which engaged 13,495 voters from across the country indicates that 57 percent of respondents are in favour of extending the presidential term from four to five years, while 36 percent oppose the change. Seven percent said they had no opinion.
There is also strong support for barring Members of Parliament (MPs) from holding ministerial positions, with 58 percent approving of the proposal, 32 percent opposing it, and 10 percent undecided.
Additionally, the poll found that 55 percent of voters support lowering the minimum age to run for president, compared with 35 percent who disagree. Another 10 percent said they had no opinion.
