A 36-year-old man has been killed following a violent confrontation linked to a relationship dispute at Offinso Agyimpra in Ashanti Region.
Police say Kwabena Anokye died after an early morning clash with another man, Akwasi Anyom, over a woman identified as Adwubi.
According to information gathered, Anokye previously had a child with Adwubi, but the relationship later ended when she began a new relationship with Anyom. The situation is said to have created long-standing tension between the two men.
On Friday, May 1, 2026, at about midnight, Anokye reportedly went to Anyom’s home and entered through a window. He is said to have confronted him, demanding that Adwubi return to him.
The confrontation quickly escalated into a violent struggle. Adwubi is reported to have fled the scene as the two men fought.
During the fight, Anokye was stabbed and sustained fatal injuries. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Anyom also suffered machete wounds in the incident. He was taken to hospital for treatment and has since been discharged. Police say he is assisting with investigations.
The body of the deceased has been deposited at a morgue as inquiries continue into the circumstances surrounding the killing.
