Abednego Tetteh Alleges Hearts of Oak and Hearts of Lion Withheld SSNIT Payments

Former Hearts of Oak striker Abednego Tetteh has revealed that neither Hearts of Oak nor Hearts of Lion has remitted his 13% SSNIT contributions, despite contractual agreements to do so.

Speaking in an interview with Sportstiger on Original TV, Tetteh explained that the two clubs deducted the required percentage from his salary but failed to deposit the funds with SSNIT, leaving his social security contributions unpaid.”

This revelation raises serious concerns about the management of player welfare and contractual obligations in Ghanaian football.

Abednego Tetteh has strongly criticized football clubs that fail to pay players’ Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT) contributions, stressing that such actions are against the law and undermine player welfare.

According to the experienced striker, many footballers dedicate their lives to the sport only to face financial difficulties after retirement because clubs neglect their responsibilities.

He explained that SSNIT contributions are essential in securing the future of players, especially during injuries, retirement,or unforeseen hardships.

Tetteh therefore called on football authorities to ensure strict compliance with the law in order to protect players and promote professionalism in the game.
