The Ministry of Health (MoH) has urged newly recruited doctors to accept postings to all regions and district hospitals as part of a national effort to ensure equitable distribution of healthcare professionals across the country.
In a statement dated November 3, 2025, and signed by the Head of Health Training Institutions and Spokesperson, Mr. Tonny Goodman, the Ministry called on doctors currently undergoing the recruitment process to accept postings to available vacancies in all regions and districts.
“As part of efforts to equitably and fairly distribute doctors across the country, the Ministry of Health urges doctors currently going through the recruitment process to accept postings to the available vacancies at the various regions and district hospitals,” the statement noted.
According to the Ministry, the ongoing posting exercise is a critical component of its broader strategy to achieve quality and accessible healthcare nationwide.
“This exercise is part of the Ministry’s broader commitment to improve evenly distribution of health professionals to ensure quality healthcare delivery nationwide,” it added.
The statement also cautioned doctors against paying bribes or engaging middlemen who promise to influence or fast-track postings, stressing that the process is entirely digital and transparent.
“The Ministry emphasizes that placement is being done strictly through the official online portal, and no individual or group has been authorized to collect money or influence postings in any form,” the release warned.
” Eligible doctors are therefore cautioned not to engage middlemen or pay any persons who promise to alter or fast-track their postings,” it further stated.
Reaffirming its stance on equity in healthcare, the Ministry said the policy is in line with Ghana’s push toward Universal Health Coverage (UHC).
“In our quest to achieve Universal Health Coverage, the Ministry of Health is firmly maintaining its policy of equitable distribution of doctors to all districts,” it emphasized.
All qualified doctors have been encouraged to visit the official Ministry of Health website to complete their registration before the approved deadline.
