The Faculty of Business and Management Studies (FBMS) of Koforidua Technical University (KTU) has once again reaffirmed its leadership in innovation, employability, and student development through the successful organisation of the 2025 ACCESS Career & Job Fair.
The event, held on August 26, 2025, at the Abba Bentil Theatre, formed part of the Faculty’s annual week-long celebration, which took place from August 25 to 29, under the theme “Enhancing Business Education through AI and Technical Innovation: Preparing Graduates for the Digital Economy.”
Supported by the African Centre for Career Enhancement and Skills Support (ACCESS), the fair brought together hundreds of students, faculty members, and industry professionals for an engaging and transformative experience. Representing ACCESS Ghana, Dr. Ralph Nyadu-Addo graced the event and commended the university for its continuous effort to bridge academia and industry through innovative initiatives that enhance graduate employability.
The occasion was chaired by Rev. Dr. Samuel Okae Adjei, former Dean of the Faculty, with a keynote address delivered by Dr. Edwin Tetteh Ayenor of the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA). Dr. Ayenor praised the choice of theme, describing it as both visionary and timely, and highlighted that the fast-paced integration of artificial intelligence and emerging technologies into global business demanded universities to rethink their curricula and teaching methods.
“Enhancing business education through AI and technical innovation is not an option but a necessity,” he stated, emphasizing that today’s graduates must be trained to lead, adapt, and thrive in the evolving digital economy.
The fair also featured a practical career development segment, where Dr. Kenneth Amoah-Binfoh and Isaac Asare-Bediako facilitated sessions on interview techniques, CV writing, and employability skills. Their sessions were highly interactive, equipping students with the professional competencies needed to succeed in today’s competitive job market.
Prominent organisations, including Choco Industry Ltd., B. Foster Bakery, Gabson Pharmacy, Happy Home Tiles, Ghana Chamber of Commerce, Glico Life Insurance, and Fidelity Bank, participated in the fair. Company representatives mounted exhibition stands, engaged students on job and internship opportunities, and offered valuable insights into industry expectations. These interactions gave students firsthand exposure to real-world business dynamics and opportunities for networking.
Representing ACCESS Ghana, Dr. Nyadu-Addo elaborated on the objectives of the ACCESS 2.0 Project (2025–2029), which focuses on promoting employability through digital skills development and innovation-driven education. He stressed the importance of collaboration between academia, industry, and government in tackling graduate unemployment, noting that “the fight against graduate unemployment requires shared responsibility and structured partnership.”
The 2025 ACCESS Career & Job Fair marked another milestone in KTU’s ongoing efforts to connect learning with labour market realities. Through this initiative, the Faculty of Business and Management Studies demonstrated its commitment to preparing students for the digital economy by fostering meaningful engagement with employers, nurturing entrepreneurial mindsets, and promoting a culture of innovation.
Though organizers noted minor challenges such as limited time and scheduling conflicts, the overall success of the fair was evident in its strong participation, impactful outcomes, and positive feedback from stakeholders. Recommendations were made to institutionalize the fair as a permanent annual feature, ensure greater faculty participation, and secure early sponsorships to enhance future editions.
In his closing remarks, Dr. Ralph Nyadu-Addo expressed gratitude to the University Management, faculty members, students, and ACCESS Ghana for their collective contribution to the success of the event. He reaffirmed that such collaborations were essential for empowering the next generation of graduates with skills, creativity, and confidence to drive sustainable growth in the digital age.
The 2025 ACCESS Career & Job Fair stands as a shining example of Koforidua Technical University’s vision to bridge education and employment, transforming academic training into meaningful, career-driven experiences that create decent work and opportunity for all.
