Head Coach of Karela United, Shaibu Tanko has laid bare in-depth tales of what transpired ahead of their matchday 30 clash against league leaders Aduana Stars at the Nana Agyemang Badu Park in Dormaa.
According to him, an unidentified Aduana Stars fan poured a concoction mixed with urine on him which forced his change of clothes before kick-off.
This comes a few weeks after Aduana Stars received a one-match home ban and were fined GHc20,000 for misconduct in their betPawa Premier League match week 25 against Tamale City FC, during which the club’s supporters damaged Tamale City FC’s bus.
In an interview with Gideon Okyere Anim “Gatusso”, on Original 91.9FM’s Super Sports Show, the gaffer for the Anyinase side said ;
“What you’ve read on social media is true”
“When we got to the Nana Agyemang Badu Park, I was the first to step down from the team bus, and just when I entered the park I heard a fan saying; ‘yes, here comes the Karela United coach’ “.
“Next, I felt a concoction mixed with urine poured on me”
“My players wanted to retaliate but I advised them to stop and focus on the game “.
Aduana Stars is currently leading the league log with 52 points while Karela United is fighting to avoid relegation at the 13th position with 39 points.
