Afari Gyan stands out as most pragmatic EC Chair in Ghana’s history – Franklin Cudjoe

Franklin Cudjoe, President of IMANI Africa, has praised Dr. Kwadwo Afari Gyan, the former chairman of the Electoral Commission (EC), as the most pragmatic Electoral Commissioner Ghana has ever seen.

Cudjoe commended Afari Gyan’s practical approach to managing Ghana’s electoral processes, citing his ability to navigate the country’s complex political environment effectively.

Cudjoe attributed the successful conduct of several elections under Afari Gyan’s leadership to his pragmatic approach, which he believes is lacking in the current commissioner, Jean Mensa.

While acknowledging that Afari Gyan faced challenges, Cudjoe emphasized that he was very pragmatic and effective in his role.

“By far, he’s been the most pragmatic of all the ECs that we have had,” Cudjoe said on Citi TV,

The IMANI boss further criticized Jean Mensa, stating that she failed to build public confidence in the Electoral Commission, which he believes could have been achieved with a more pragmatic approach.
