Former Asante Kotoko striker Ahmed Toure has expressed strong support for the appointment of Karim Zito as the new head coach of the Porcupine Warriors, describing him as a capable and experienced leader who is well-suited to guide the club back to its glory days.
Speaking during an interview with King Kaninja on Accra-based Original TV, Toure praised the club’s decision and voiced confidence in the technical direction under Zito, especially with the involvement of assistant coach Malik.
“I think Karim Zito is a very good coach with the right qualities to handle a big club like Asante Kotoko,” Toure said. “With him and Malik working together, I believe the team will achieve their goals with ease.”
Karim Zito, a respected figure in Ghanaian football and a former national youth team coach, was recently unveiled as the head coach of Asante Kotoko following a managerial shake-up aimed at revitalizing the club’s performance both domestically and in Africa.
Toure, who remains a fan favorite among Kotoko supporters for his memorable spells with the club, emphasized the need for unity and patience as the new coaching team gets to work.
“This is a new chapter for the club, and I urge the fans to support the coaches and the players. Zito understands Ghanaian football , and that will help Kotoko move in the right direction,” he added.
