Ghana’s Ambassador to the United States, H.E. Victor Emmanuel Smith, has been honoured at the prestigious Millennium Excellence Awards USA, held at the Warner Theatre in Washington, D.C., on August 29, 2026.
The ceremony brought together distinguished personalities from Ghana, the United States and beyond, recognising individuals whose exceptional contributions have advanced humanity and society in diverse fields.
Ambassador Smith was recognised for his contributions to politics and public service, an honour he received with humility and renewed commitment to national service.
In his acceptance remarks, he expressed appreciation to the Foundation, distinguished guests and His Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, while reaffirming his focus on partnerships, investment and opportunities that can create decent, well-paying jobs and improve lives.
‘I accept it with humility and a renewed commitment to serve,” the Ambassador said, concluding with a prayer for the Asantehene and Ghana’.
The ceremony also honoured renowned technology innovator Dr. Victor Lawrence for his groundbreaking contributions to digital signal processing, high-speed internet and modern technologies that have impacted millions of users worldwide.
Ghana’s Minister for Tourism, Dzifa Gomashie and Aide to President John Mahama, Joyce Bawa Mogtari were amongst guests who presented awards.
