Ambulance Trial: Kwesi Pratt calls for swift investigation into accusations against Attorney General

Kwesi Pratt Jnr., Managing Editor of The Insight newspaper, has urged the Ghana Bar Association and relevant authorities for a swift investigation into the numerous accusations against the Attorney General, Godfred Yeboah Dame.

Speaking on Good Morning Ghana on Metro TV, Pratt emphasized that the Attorney General, as the Minister for Justice, must uphold the highest standards of integrity and professionalism.

“The accusations against the Attorney General have become one too many,” Pratt stated. “If not investigated swiftly, public confidence in the laws that govern this country will be severely undermined.”

Pratt expressed concern over the low confidence in the justice system, warning that any unprofessional conduct by public officeholders would be met with public disapproval.

He also highlighted the unprecedented nature of recent events, where court matters are being determined in private houses and manipulations are allegedly taking place.

“It’s the first time we’re seeing court matters being determined in private houses and manipulations done,” Kwesi Pratt noted. “This is unacceptable and must be addressed promptly.”

His call for an investigation comes amid growing concerns about the independence and impartiality of the Attorney General’s Office. The accusations against Godfred Dame have sparked a national debate about the integrity of the legal process and the need for accountability in public office.
