Amerado fumes over TGMA snub in new song

Ghanaian rapper Amerado has expressed disappointment over his exclusion from the 2026 Telecel Ghana Music Awards Best Rap Performance category, saying his years of hard work and consistency have been overlooked.

In a new emotionally charged song, the rapper criticised the awards board for failing to recognise what he described as his versatility as both a singer and rapper, despite releasing several hit songs and maintaining a steady presence in the music industry.

Amerado described the omission as a downgrade of his talent and used the track to directly address his frustrations with the awards scheme.

The rapper also spoke about fellow artiste Medikal, expressing disappointment that he did not win the Artiste of the Year award at the 2026 ceremony.

Reflecting on his journey since 2020, Amerado said he had continued to grow in the face of criticism and doubt about his career, adding that he had worked hard to prove himself in the industry.

His latest release adds to growing concerns raised by some artistes during the 2025 and 2026 awards season over nomination selections and award decisions.

The song also continues Amerado’s long standing approach of using music to address industry issues while documenting his personal and artistic journey.
