Annoh-Dompreh Must Apologize To Ashantis For Distasteful Comments – Former NPP MP

Former Member of Parliament for Manhyia North in the Ashanti Region, Collins Owusu Amankwah has locked horns with Member of Parliament for Nsawam Adoagyiri, Frank Annoh-Dompreh over what the former describes as distasteful comment by the latter about Ashantis.

The MP for Nsawam Adoagyiri who doubles as the Majority Chief Whip had earlier in an interview claimed it is characteristic of Ashantis to support any candidate who declares intention without engaging in proper background checks.

However, the former MP finds Mr. Annoh-Dompreh’s, who is alleged to be in the camp of Vice President Dr. Bawumia, very unpalatable and divisive.

Speaking in an interview with Accra-based Neat FM, Collins Owusu Amankwah noted that he is indeed hurt by the comments of the majority chief whip.

According to the former MP, Ashantis are not robots or zombies who just accept anything and everything hence calling on the MP for Nsawam to reflect on his comment again and apologize to the people of Ashanti Region for sanity to prevail.

He said “I am being passionate here because he can’t tell us [Ashantis] that. People are hurt, what he said is just not right. He should reflect on that and apologise. Much as we are NPP, we just don’t follow anything. We are just disappointed.”

He further added that “for our own collective goals, he should come out and render an apology to the entire people of the Ashanti region. We are not mugu, we are not zombies, we could reason. We are rational human beings; we know what is right and wrong.”
