Speaker of Parliament Alban Bagbin, has suspended Chief Whips from both sides, Frank Annoh Dompreh and Rockson Nelson Dafeamekpor from Parliament for two weeks with immediate effect.
Also, Second Deputy Minority Whip Jerry Ahmed Shaib and Hassan Tampuli have received the same punishment for their involvement in the chaos that erupted on Thursday, January 30, which led to the damage of equipments at the appointment committee room.
Speaker Alban Bagbin in the formal communication directed the reconstitution of the Appointment Committee immediately.
Meanwhile, a seven member committee has been constituted to investigate the matter within 10 days and present a report to the house for appropriate actions to be taken.
According to Speaker Bagbin, culprits of the investigation would be made to pay for damages caused in the committee room where the incident happened.
