Antoine Semenyo Named EPL Player of the Week

Ghana forward Antoine Semenyo has been voted the English Premier League Player of the Week for Matchday 26 following a sensational performance for Manchester City.

The 26-year-old attacker delivered a Man of the Match display to inspire City to a commanding 3-0 victory over Fulham F.C. at the Etihad Stadium.

Semenyo opened the scoring after capitalizing on scrappy defending from Fulham, reacting quickest inside the box to poach home from close range. His sharp movement and attacking instinct immediately put the hosts in control, setting the tone for a dominant afternoon in Manchester.

The Ghana international quickly turned from scorer to provider just minutes later. Showing composure and vision, Semenyo set up Nico O’Reilly for City’s second goal of the game.

The clinical display was capped off when Erling Haaland added the third to seal an emphatic win for the Premier League champions.

Having joined Manchester City in January, Semenyo’s impact has been immediate and impressive. His Player of the Week recognition makes him the third City player to claim the accolade this season, following earlier wins by Erling Haaland on Matchday 6 and Jérémy Doku on Matchday 11.

In the official fan vote, Semenyo secured 39 percent to beat strong competition from Virgil van Dijk, who earned 32 percent. Other nominees included Lukas Nmecha of Leeds, José Sá of Wolverhampton Wanderers, Malick Thiaw of Newcastle United, and Jaidon Anthony of Burnley.
