Ghanaian artist Mubarikatu Isaaka, also known as Artist Barry, has ended her attempt to set a new record for the longest individual painting marathon, painting for 154 hours over nine days.
The 29-year-old artist from Akwatia in the Eastern region aimed to break the record currently held by Nigerian art student Chancellor Ahaaghotu, who set a new mark of 100 hours in January.
Isaaka took five-minute breaks every hour and 20-minute breaks every four hours, as permitted by the rules.
She initially aimed to paint for 130 hours but extended her time to make up for lost time.
After completing her attempt, Isaaka expressed satisfaction with her performance and hopes to achieve the feat of breaking the longest individual painting marathon record.
The event was attended by highlife singer Patapaa and rapper Fameye, who performed some of their hit songs to crown the occasion.
