Asante Kotoko continued their impressive form, extending their winning streak to four matches with a 2-0 victory over Bibiani GoldStars at the Baba Yara Stadium under the floodlights.
The Porcupine Warriors started strong and took the lead in the 18th minute when Justice Blay calmly converted a penalty awarded after Samba O’Niel’s header was blocked on the goal line.
GoldStars faced an uphill battle after Bright Kyere was sent off for a reckless tackle on Peter Amidu Acquah in the 36th minute, making their comeback even more challenging.
With the numerical advantage, Asante Kotoko dominated the game throughout the remaining minutes of the first half and into the second half.
In the 74th minute, the Porcupine Warriors doubled their lead and wrapped the game up when new signee Kwame Poku found space in the box and curled a low shot past the helpless goalkeeper.
This victory marked Kotoko’s fourth consecutive win, propelling them to second place in the league, just three points behind the leaders, Heart of Lions.
