Asante Kotoko Stun Hearts of Oak with 2-1 Comeback Win in 2025 President’s Cup

Kumasi Asante Kotoko staged an impressive second-half comeback to defeat Hearts of Oak 2-1 in the 2025 President’s Cup.

The Phobians took an early lead after a goalkeeping error by Asante Kotoko’s Mohammed Camera, which Hamza Issah capitalized on to slot the ball home.

However, coach Abdul-Karim Zito’s halftime adjustments paid off as Asante Kotoko fought back with determination. The turning point came when Peter Amidu’s cross was inadvertently headed into his own net by Hearts’ Konadu Yiadom, leveling the score.

The Porcupine Warriors sealed their victory when Kwame Poku scored from a well-executed through pass by Albert Amoah, showcasing the team’s resilience and skill.

This thrilling comeback win marked a strong start for Asante Kotoko in the tournament.
