Ashaiman police have arrested two suspects believed to be linked to a series of armed robberies in the municipality and surrounding communities.
The suspects, identified as Nii Adjei and Selasie, are alleged to have carried out a number of violent attacks targeting residents in the area.
Police said one of the incidents occurred on 27th May 2026 when the suspects allegedly attacked a woman, Akosua Dwomo, while she was boarding a vehicle. The attackers were said to have been armed with machetes, knives and a pair of scissors before robbing her.
In a separate incident, a 23-year-old man, Danquah, was reportedly ambushed by the two suspects and a group of about 20 young men. During the attack, the victim sustained cutlass wounds to his finger before the assailants made away with his mobile phone and cash amounting to GH¢1,600.
The two suspects are currently in police custody, while investigations continue. Police say efforts are underway to track down and arrest the remaining suspects believed to have been involved in the attacks.
