Finance Minister Dr Cassiel Ato Forson has begun engagements with the Ministry of Trade, Agribusiness and Industry as part of efforts to advance the government’s “New Economy” agenda.
In a post on social media on Wednesday afternoon [September 2, 2026], Ato Forson said the focus must now shift from economic stabilisation to a broader transformation that delivers tangible improvements in the lives of Ghanaians.
He described economic stabilisation as only the starting point, arguing that Ghana’s efforts to restore stability should pave the way for a more transformative phase.
“Stabilisation was never the destination. It was the price of entry. Ghana has paid that price,” he wrote.
According to the Finance Minister, the next phase should be centred on economic transformation at scale.
“What comes next is the work that changes lives at scale the work of transformation!” he added.
Ato Forson did not provide further details in the post on the specific outcomes expected from the engagement with the Ministry of Trade, Agribusiness and Industry.
