Attacks on Security Personnel Will No Longer Be Tolerated – Interior Minister Warns

Interior Minister Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak has cautioned the public against attacks on security personnel, declaring that such acts will be met with decisive force from the state.

Speaking at the commissioning of the Eastern Regional Office of the National Signals Bureau (NSB) in Koforidua, the Interior Minister Minister expressed grave concern over recent assaults on security officers in the line of duty.

“As we speak, more than four of our security personnel are lying in hospital, between life and death, simply for doing their jobs, protecting lives and maintaining order,” he said.

“We will no longer tolerate communities that attack our men and women in uniform.”

Muntaka Mubarak emphasized that while Ghana is committed to democratic governance and professionalizing its security services, it will not allow that openness to be mistaken for weakness.

“Let this be a clear signal. Any individual or group that dares to attack security personnel or installations will face the full force of the law,” he stated.

This tough stance comes amid rising concern over growing tensions between law enforcement and certain communities.

The Interior Minister reiterated the need for all Ghanaians to cooperate with security agencies, especially as the government continues to invest in modern infrastructure and intelligence tools to keep the nation safe.

“Our men and women are putting their lives on the line. We cannot allow a few misguided individuals to undermine that commitment,” Muntaka said.
