Australian High Commissioner To Ghana Touts Sports As Excellent Tool For Social Inclusion

Australian High Commissioner to Ghana, Her Excellency Berenice Owen-Jones has touted sporting activities as an excellent tool for social inclusion.

According to the High Commissioner, sports can be a major tool to improve the lives of vulnerable individuals and marginalized groups in every society.

Her Excellency Berenice Owen-Jones made these remarks on Friday, May 26, 2023, when she handed over sports equipment to Rangoon and Base Ordinance Depot schools in the La Dadekotopon Municipal Assembly. She also took the opportunity to witness a football match between the beneficiary schools.

Speaking at the short event to hand over the sports gear, the High Commissioner indicated that due to the enormous benefits of sports to every society, the Australian Aid program has made it a priority to improve the lives of the vulnerable and promote inclusive development through sports.

“Sport is also an excellent tool for inclusion. As a keen believer and promoter of inclusive development, the Australian High Commission makes it a priority under our Australian Aid program to promote the rights of the vulnerable – including children – and to improve opportunities for them,” Her Excellency Berenice Owen-Jones remarked.
