Richard Kings Atikpo, the bankroller of Legon Cities and incumbent Member of the Council of State for the Oti Region, has been re-elected after a resounding electoral victory. He secured 16 out of 18 votes, representing 88.8% of the total votes cast.
Atikpo triumphed over seven other candidates, including former Deputy Minister for the Volta and Oti Regions, Maxwell Quophy Blagodzi, as well as Mohammed Haris, Akpabi Joseph Quarshie, Nana Kofi Ollator, Nicholas Kwame Fato, and Klabi Calvin Yaw, in the election held on Tuesday, February 11, 2025.
Legon Cities took to social media to congratulate their bankroller, stating: “We send our most sincere congratulations to our distinguished bankroller for emerging victorious in the Council of State elections in the Oti Region once more.”
Atikpo’s re-election reflects his dedication to his constituents and commitment to community development, advocacy for local issues, and fostering collaboration among stakeholders.
As a Member of the Council of State for the region, Atikpo’s experience and insights will be crucial in advising the President of Ghana on key national issues, contributing to the ongoing effectiveness of the Council.
With another term ahead, there are high expectations for Atikpo to continue focusing on his constituents’ needs, driving sustainable development in the Oti Region, and ensuring the voices of the people are heard at the national level.
