Following the alleged enskinment of a new Bawku Naba, government has outrightly condemned the act describing the incident as illegal.

According to a statement released by the Ministry of Information on Wednesday afternoon, the incident which is purported to have happened today at Nalerigu is a threat to National Security.

The statement signed by the Minister for Information, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah reiterated that the recognized Bawku Naba who is duly gazetted and a Member of the Upper East Regional House of Chiefs is Asigri Abubrago Azoka III hence any other enskinment remains illegal.

Government has therefore urged the security forces to arrest and prosecute any other person who hold himself as Bawku Naba.

Portions of the statement read that, “the Security agencies have therefore been directed to arrest and prosecute any other person who holds himself out as a Bawku Naba. Further, any developments that have the potential to undermine the peace of Bawku will also be dealt with swiftly and in accordance with law.”
