Finance Minister Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson has praised the Benso Oil Palm Plantation (BOPP) as a powerful example of how strategic investment in agriculture can create jobs and improve lives.
During a working visit to the plantation at Adum Abanso in the Western Region, Dr. Forson said BOPP’s success shows the vast potential of Ghana’s oil palm industry to drive inclusive growth and support rural communities.
“Benso Oil Palm Plantation is a perfect example of how strategic investment in oil palm can create thousands of jobs and transform lives,” he said.

“The dedication and professionalism I witnessed here give me great confidence that renewed investment in this sector is worth every effort.”
He commended BOPP’s management, workers, and smallholder farmers for their role in boosting Ghana’s agricultural and industrial growth, noting that their collaboration reflects what is possible when public and private sectors work together.
Dr. Forson revealed that government is finalising a comprehensive Oil Palm Plantation Policy to expand production, strengthen value chains, and create thousands of new jobs across the country.
He also highlighted BOPP’s inclusive business model, which integrates smallholder farmers into its operations, describing it as a model that fits perfectly with government’s vision of agriculture as the foundation for Ghana’s next phase of growth and job creation.
