Residents of Beposo in the Asunafo South District have expressed excitement after the Isaac Paintsil Foundation (I.P Foundation), in partnership with Blaze Investment, officially cut sod for the construction of an ultra-modern sports complex — the first of its kind in the district.
The landmark project is being facilitated by the I.P Foundation, with construction works set to be undertaken by Blaze Investment, one of Ghana’s leading sports infrastructure firms.
The Isaac Paintsil Foundation is a non-governmental organization focused on unearthing and nurturing talents, especially among marginalized young people in rural communities across the Ahafo Region. The foundation says the initiative forms part of its broader mission to create opportunities for youth development through sports and education.
Speaking at the sod-cutting ceremony, Country Director Bishop Charles Appiah said the foundation is committed to empowering young people by helping them discover and develop their talents.
“Our objective is to raise young people from rural areas, offer them training through sports and education for them to achieve whatever their goals are. Starting with what we’ve done in Beposo around Sankore, we hope to shape the future of the younger generation,” he stated.
Blaze Investment, led by CEO Alhaji Salifu Sinkare, is widely known for its expertise in sports infrastructure development. The company has assured residents of delivering a world-class facility without compromising on quality.
“This project is about building a world-class edifice that will stand the test of time. Quality is our hallmark and we will construct a facility that should match any quality anywhere in the world,” Alhaji Sinkare noted.
The proposed sports complex will feature a FIFA-standard astro turf, floodlights, seating areas, changing rooms, tartan tracks, and a multipurpose court.
Residents believe the facility will not only transform sports development in the area but also create opportunities for young talents to pursue professional careers and improve community engagement through sports.
