Berekum Chelsea forward Dominic Frimpong has tragically passed away after suffering a head injury during a highway robbery on the club’s team bus.
The incident took place as the team was returning from their Ghana Premier League match against FC Samartex.
Armed robbers ambushed the team bus on the Bibiani-Goaso road near Ahyiresu, blocking the road and forcing players and officials to flee into the bushes to escape.
During the attack, several players sustained injuries, and Frimpong was shot in the head.
The 20-year-old was rushed to the Bibiani Government Hospital but was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
The Ghana Police are searching for missing players and officials and pursuing the armed robbers, who are on the run.
