A 28-year-old final-year nursing student, Kyere Gifty, from the Sunyani Nursing and Midwifery Training College, has reportedly been murdered in Berekum Jinijini of the Bono Region.
According to preliminary information, the suspect, identified as 23-year-old Edmond Ayomah, is believed to be Gifty’s boyfriend. Gifty had allegedly left campus to visit him, but the visit ended in tragedy.
In a brief interview, Pastor Kyere Jonathan, the senior pastor of Agape Evangelical Church in Jinijini and father of the late Gifty, recounted the heartbreaking news and expressed shock over the incident.
He called on the Ghana Police Service to ensure justice is served as investigations continue.
The police are still working to uncover the motive and full circumstances surrounding the incident .
