Communications Director of Bibiani GoldStars, Samuel Kwagyire, says the team is fully focused and mentally prepared to fight for the Premier League title, as the season enters its final stretch.
GoldStars currently top the league with a two-point cushion, following an impressive 3-0 win over Bechem United in midweek. Speaking after the game, Kwagyire acknowledged the pressure that comes with being in the title race but insisted the team isn’t getting carried away.
“The league is very competitive at this stage. Every team at the top is pushing hard, picking up points, and trying to stay in the race. If you want to be champions, you have to give more, you have to go the extra mile. That’s the mindset we have,” Samuel Kwagyire said in an interview with Michael Kofi Oduro on Metro TV.
Kwagyire also pointed out a potential advantage for his side, more home games left to play compared to some of their rivals.
“Yes, we’ve got a few more games at home, which helps, but this league has shown us that anything can happen. Whether we play at home or away, we’ve prepared ourselves mentally. We know there are three possible results in every game, win, lose, or draw, and we go into each one with that in mind.”
He praised the team’s recent form and believes a slight improvement in performance could make all the difference.
“Our home and away form has been solid, and if we can even raise our game by just 10%, I believe we’ll have a real edge. The players are focused, determined, and they understand what’s at stake.”
When asked if the club is ready to compete in Africa should they win the league and qualify for the CAF Champions League, Kwagyire gave a confident nod.
“Yes, we’re ready. We’re very ready.”
Bibiani GoldStars sit at the top of the table with 47 points, holding a slim lead over their closest challengers, two points clear of Nations FC and three ahead of Asante Kotoko, with just seven games left to play.
