Five people, including women and children, have been tragically murdered by gunmen during curfew hours at Tengmasug, a suburb of the Binduri District in the Upper East Region.
The incident occurred on November 7, 2025, at around 7:15 pm., when the assailants reportedly sneaked in from the Binduri central market area and opened fire on a household that was in their residence during the curfew. Five people were killed, one person sustained gunshot wounds, and two bullocks were also shot dead.
Residents of the area are accusing the military presence in Binduri of bias, alleging that security personnel are protecting a notorious minority group that uses the soldiers as cover to attack and kill innocent people.
Narrating the incident to journalist, Ibrahim Abode, the Assembly Member for the area Anaba Joseph, expressed disappointment in the conduct of the military, claiming that they are stationed there not to protect the public but to shield criminals who use their presence to harm innocent residents.
When the journalist arrived at the scene, women and children were heard wailing over the heartbreaking incident.
The killings in the Binduri area is a spillover of the Bawku Conflict which has since taken the lives of hundreds of people including women and children and also displaced many.
