Ghana’s Black Galaxies have completed their preparations for the return leg of the 2024 Africa Nations Championship (CHAN) qualifier against their fierce rivals, Nigeria.
The team under the guidance of Coach Mas-Ud Didi held their final training session at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo on Friday evening, with all 23 players participating and no injury concerns reported.
Ghana played to a goalless draw with Nigeria in the first leg in Accra, setting the stage for an exciting return fixture scheduled for Saturday, December 27, at the same stadium, with kickoff at 16:00 GMT (4 PM local time).
To have any chance of qualifying, the Black Galaxies need to avoid defeat, and Coach Mas-Ud Didi is optimistic that his team will score while striving to keep a clean sheet.
“As much as possible, we will try to keep a clean sheet, but I want to believe that we will surely score. We will score, we will open up something. I control the energy, the effort, I control the performance (of my boys), but the results, we don’t control it.” Dramani said.
Ghana aims to secure a second consecutive place at the CHAN, having defeated Nigeria in the previous qualifiers to earn a spot in the tournament, which is exclusively for players competing in their home leagues.
The upcoming edition, the eighth, will be co-hosted by Tanzania, Kenya, and Uganda from February 1-28, 2025.
