Ghana’s Black Princesses have booked their place in the 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup after a hard-fought 1-1 draw against Uganda at the FUFA Stadium in Kampala on Saturday afternoon.
Coupled with last week’s 2-1 win in the first leg in Accra, the result saw Ghana advance comfortably on aggregate.
Uganda made a bright start, taking the lead in the sixth minute to go into the break with a 1-0 advantage.
However, Ghana responded strongly in the second half, with Linda Owusu Ansah finding the equaliser in the 78th minute to restore parity and seal qualification.
The achievement extends Ghana’s remarkable record in youth women’s football, marking an eighth consecutive appearance at the U-20 Women’s World Cup.
