The Black Stars of Ghana have officially kicked off their preparations for the upcoming international friendlies against Japan and South Korea. On Wednesday, the squad held their first training session in Nagoya, Japan, with 19 players participating as they gear up for the Kirin Challenge Cup clash against Japan this Friday.

The training session saw the arrival of Al Qadsiah winger Christopher Bonsu Baah, who joined the squad earlier in the day. Under the watchful eye of the technical team, the Black Stars wasted no time in focusing on tactics, fitness, and building cohesion ahead of the high-profile matches.

The squad features a mix of experienced internationals and rising stars, with goalkeeper Joseph Anang, defenders Derrick Kohn and Kojo Oppong Peprah, as well as key midfielders Kamaldeen Sulemana and Antoine Semenyo all in attendance. Newly added to the team is the versatile Alidu Seidu, as well as midfielder Caleb Yirenkyi and winger Prince Owusu.

The Black Stars will hold their final pre-match training session at Toyota Stadium in Aichi on Thursday, November 13, 2025, to fine-tune their strategies ahead of their first friendly match against Japan on November 14.

Benjamin Asare to Join Before Final Session:
In other team news, Hearts of Oak goalkeeper Benjamin Asare, who recently featured in the Super Clash against Asante Kotoko, is expected to join the squad ahead of their final training before the match against Japan.

After the Kirin Challenge Cup against Japan, the Black Stars will travel to South Korea for their second friendly of the tour, scheduled for November 18. Both games will serve as critical preparation for Ghana’s future international fixtures and provide an opportunity for the team to continue building chemistry as they look toward upcoming competitive matches.
