Communications Director of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Henry Asante Twum, has cautioned that Ghana’s upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against the Central African Republic (CAR) could be a challenging test for the Black Stars.
The crucial Matchday 9 encounter will take place at the Stade d’Honneur de Meknes in Morocco on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, with kick-off scheduled for 16:00 GMT.
Speaking to Original TV/FM 91.9, Asante Twum urged the team to stay focused and avoid complacency.

“The game against the Central African Republic will be tricky, but we don’t want a repeat of what happened in Chad. We must do everything possible to win this game,” he told Gideon Okyere Anim (Gattusso)
He emphasized that victory in Morocco is key to setting up a decisive final qualifier against Comoros in Accra.
“CAR are fighting for nothing, and that’s what makes it dangerous. We must finish strong to make the Comoros game a celebration for the entire country,” he added.
The Black Stars began their training camp in Casablanca on Sunday, October 5, as they continue preparations for the two final group matches.
Ghana aims to secure its fifth FIFA World Cup appearance, having previously featured at the global showpiece in 2006 (Germany), 2010 (South Africa), 2014 (Brazil), and 2022 (Qatar).
