Black Stars head coach Otto Addo has checked in on Ghanaian forward Mohammed Fuseini following his recent ankle surgery.
The Royale Union Saint-Gilloise striker sustained the injury earlier this season, cutting short his promising run after making a strong impression for Ghana, notably scoring in the Unity Cup win over Trinidad & Tobago in May.
Fuseini’s setback ruled him out of Ghana’s June 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Chad and Mali. The Black Stars drew 1-1 away to Chad before edging Mali 1-0 at the Accra Sports Stadium.
At club level, the 22-year-old has been restricted to just two appearances this season and missed Union Saint-Gilloise’s UEFA Champions League debut against PSV Eindhoven. His teammates, however, made history with a 3-1 away victory in their first-ever group-stage game.
Fuseini was a standout performer last season, playing a pivotal role as Union Saint-Gilloise won their first Belgian league title in 90 years, securing a place in Europe’s top-tier competition.
