Police investigators have uncovered blood stained evidence and signs of a cleanup effort in the home of Bright Aweh, the suspect in the killing of immigration officer Stephen King Amoah.
Walls near the stains were freshly sprayed, and an empty can of spray paint lay nearby, officers report.
A targeted search of one room uncovered further blood marks, suggesting the cleaning was never complete.
Roughly 100 meters from Aweh’s house, detectives recovered a fufu pestle wrapped in polythene and splattered with blood. The suspect’s vehicle has also been impounded after traces of blood were spotted inside.
Bright Aweh had been first charged with kidnapping Stephen King Amoah. But after the new findings, officers rearrested him and are moving to indict him for murder. He is set to appear in court on August 8.
Aweh is accused of luring Amoah to his home under the pretext of settling a debt.
The officer vanished for six days before his body was discovered near Kwabenya, almost burnt to ashes. Authorities have not disclosed a motive beyond the alleged debt dispute.
