Minister for Food and Agriculture, Bryan Acheampong, has dismissed allegations that his hotel, Rock City, is incurring losses.
Speaking with Onua FM/TV’s Yaa Brefo on Wednesday, Dr. Acheampong described the assertions by Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, Member of Parliament for North Tongu, as unfounded and dishonest.
He challenged Ablakwa’s source of information and urged him to disclose the documents he claims to have.
“Rock City is not making losses. There is no one anywhere who can say that Rock City is making losses,” Dr. Acheampong stated.
He explained that Rock City has not filed its 2023 taxes, which are due at the end of June, making it impossible for Ablakwa to have intercepted documents from the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA).
Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has been vocal in the sale of Social Security and National Insurance Trust’s (SSNIT) 60% stake in four hotels to Rock City Hotel, owned by the Minister for Food and Agriculture, Bryan Acheampong.
The North Tongu lawmaker cites, among other things, a lack of due process and violation of procurement procedures, as basis to reject the intention of the government to sell the four hotels.
He has also petitioned the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ) seeking an investigation into the incident.
