The Convention People’s Party (CPP) has commended President John Dramani Mahama for his “reset agenda” and called on all Ghanaians to support the initiative.
In a statement to mark Ghana’s 68th Independence Anniversary, the CPP praised President Mahama’s decision to scale down the celebrations, saving GH¢13.5 million (90% of the previous cost).
“The CPP wishes all Ghanaians a peaceful and relaxing 68th Independence Anniversary, and calls on all to support the President in his call to reflect, review, and reset,” the statement said.
The party noted that President Mahama’s “reset agenda” is in line with its own vision for the country’s development.
“As building the economy we want together, will benefit all, irrespective of Party colour, creed, or ideology,” the CPP stated.
The party also acknowledged that the current government has implemented some policies inspired by the CPP’s own development plans, such as the Free Senior High School policy.
“It is refreshing to note that… the New Patriotic Government, took many leaves from the CPP book of wisdom, and implemented Nkrumaist inspired policies,” the statement said.
The CPP reiterated its call for national support for President Mahama’s “reset agenda”.
